Roland Tings is a one to watch out for. Having released his debut single, Milky Way, on Amanda Brown’s 100% Silk imprint, he’s been noted for his affinity for classic analogue sounds, from Chicago House to the pioneering European work of Manuel Göttsching. Wherever his influences lie, he’s always guaranteed to deliver a “primal, celestial…dance floor workout” in his involved sets.
And we hear Cavern Echoes. Along with Das Glow, Nicolas Castle and XI, the four set about exploring the wide range of interior acoustics of Loftus Hall on Friday, July 13. Expect drenched interludes, atmospheric synths and sweaty, jacking anthems as they come together. Interested? Check here for more info.

In her groovy guide to Los Angeles, Amanda Brown of Not Not Fun and 100% Silk lets loose on her most eclectic spots to eat, drink and get down to some seriously obscure cinema. Citizens of the city of angels, rejoice!
Yet don’t feel left out if you’re stuck on the European mainland, 100% Silk is bringing things overseas, performing tomorrow at Kater Holzig as part of the very first “Polymorphism” series of shows that highlight unconventional means of producing music. Alongside Brown’s project LA Vampires will be sets by Ital, Maria Minerva, Magic Touch and some transatlantic cross-pollination with a special guest set by Heatsick and DJ Bill Kouligas of PAN spinning the night through. Get your fade ready for that silky, steamy mixture once LA hits BLN.

100% Silk is an amalgam of sorts. Set up by Amanda Brown, whose other artistic exploits include running the label Not Not Fun and having played in the psych band Pocahaunted, 100% Silk is positioned both as a electronic label and creative project furthering the cause of its late-night dance manifesto. Now, their core roster that includes Ital, Magic Touch, Maria Minerva and Brown’s alter ego LA Vampires, is about to embark on a Europe-wide tour touching down across the continent and coming to a halt at its final destination, the Sonar Festival in Barcelona.

Yet the tour does not end there. To document what Brown sees as the “rebirth of 21st-century electronic body music”, she intends to turn this tour into a documentary of modern dance music culture. To offset the costs of equipment rental for the film, your help is requested in furthering this collaborative project!

Check out her fundraising site to further along this documentary of the Future House Sound of Now.
