More a phenomenon than simply an event, the bi-monthly party CONCRETE has reshaped the Parisian electronic music landscape, forming a space of confluence that goes against the city’s reputation of catering to only fragmented, insular musical scenes. Tomorrow on January 6th, 2013 will be reined in with a line-up featuring Rick Wilhite, Tama Sumo, Fred P and Professor Inc who will collectively weave a thread through the cities of Detroit, New York, Berlin, Paris and Hamburg on the banks of the Seine. The 20 hour party begins at 7 in the morning on Sunday and, in classic Berlin style, will continue until Monday at 1AM.
Check out more info on the event here, and view the full line-up on CONCRETE’s website. And, as an apt teaser, check out Fred P aka Black Jazz Consortium doing his thing at CONCRETE’s party this past February:

Kompakt kid Sebastien Bouchet hails from Paris but plays to a different tune from the omnipresent electro that you might (still) find in the French capital. Tonight he’s descending upon Le Nano as it opens its cabaret doors up to an evening of electronic percussion you might as well find in Berlin or Cologne. And what could be a better warm-up for the all-day CONCRETE party ahead on Sunday…

Entry is free, and it all goes down at 22:30. Check out more info here.

The esteemed voice of Fabrice Paineau, editor of Double Magazine, described the photography of Camille Vivier as “light as feathers, round as breasts, these images are voluptuous, straightforward, they swallow everything.” The work of Camille Vivier, which has already been showcased by the likes of Numéro, Grey, Another Magazine and Dazed and Confused, provocatively obsesses over the body, both it’s modern and ancient connotations.
Head down to 12Mail in Paris before November 16th to catch a collection of her best works; a collection explicitly and outwardly frozen in beauty, that reveals far, far more than its mere visual exterior initially suggests.

Parisians owe a lot to the Savoir Faire guys; they’ve already been gifted hotspots Silencio and Social Club and tonight sees the unveiling of the latest go-to venue from the music company/record label/events agency—sexy Seine-side restaurant cum night club concept, Wanderlust.
Taking care of the comestibles is up-and-coming chef, Benjamin Darnaud, while the after dark affairs will be left to a revolving roster of pros, epitomised by this evening’s headliners for the debut shindig, Cassius.

For his fourth solo exhibition at Paris’ art: concept, Lothar Hempel presents a spanking new series of paintings that mix oil-colour, crayon, collage, acrylic, print, stains, drips, scratches, sheddings, smears and splatters. These intriguing paintings are filled with unintentional signs that result from the multiplicity of the layers applied by the artist, who tells an unknown story: The Story of The Old New Girls…

Combining photographic illustration and avant-avant performance, Parisian artists Estelle Hanania and Christophe Brunnquell will be exhibiting their collaborative work, entitled Guerre de Feu (War of Fire), at the beginning of April in Paris’ 12Mail creative space. Fluctuating from ethno-folk influences to gothic iconography, their work consists of portraits of battered faces, primeval dressings and further presentations of the crude, clandestine world they inhabit.

Their exhibition opens on April 15 and is on display until June 1st. Find out more about the opening here, and check out the work of Estelle Hanania and Christophe Brunnquell.
